Founded in 1971, the Black American West Museum & Heritage Center preserves and celebrates the often-overlooked contributions of Black Americans to the history of the American West. Located in Denver, Colorado, the museum offers a unique experience through diverse exhibits, historic photographs, artifacts, and personal stories that bring to life the rich heritage of Black pioneers, cowboys, homesteaders, and community leaders. With a dedicated team of volunteer staff, the museum serves as a cultural cornerstone, offering guided tours, educational programs, and engaging events to connect visitors with this essential piece of American history.
